From a bold vision to connect Cree communities, Air Creebec has grown into a trusted regional airline serving cities and communities across Québec and Ontario.
A Vision Takes Flight
Founded in June 1982, Air Creebec completed its first flights on July 5th . The airline began with 51% Cree ownership and 49% held by Austin Airways, marking a major step toward Cree-led air transportation.
Full Cree Ownership
The Cree purchased all remaining airline assets in what was then the largest commercial deal by an Indigenous group in Canada, bringing Air Creebec under full Cree ownership and leadership.
First All-Cree Flight Crew
Air Creebec operated its first all-Cree flight crew, featuring two Cree pilots and a Cree flight attendant on an Ontario route, a milestone in Cree representation. All three remain part of our team today.
Montréal Hangar & FBO (YUL)
The opening of Air Creebec’s dedicated hangar and FBO at Montréal–Trudeau (YUL) marked a major step forward, expanding operational capacity and reflecting the Cree Nation’s pride in its fully owned regional airline.
New Cargo Era
Integration of the ATR 72 Freighter into the fleet marked a major upgrade to our cargo operations. Its large cargo door, efficient engines, and modern systems signaled the beginning of a new era in regional freight.
Honouring a Legacy Aircraft
With the retirement of our Hawker Siddeley 748s, one aircraft now stands on display at the Canadian Aviation Museum in Windsor, Ontario, recognizing its long service and historic role in Air Creebec’s operations.
